We spent Sunday afternoon in Genova to visit friends Nora and Marco - aka Manolab. Nora has just ventured into opening Papê, a boutique stationery shop in Genova. It’s no ordinary card shop and showcases some fun & unique graphic design pieces as well as screen printed t-shirts and children's art books. I picked up the one and only children’s book illustrated by Saul Bass...

Papê also hosts screen printing, origami, binding, calligraphy workshops and a host of other great hands on projects aimed at children too.
ON LOCATION |
It’s located just in front of the municipal in the old town. The city decided to rehabilitate this borough “La Maddalena" and gave incentive for artisinal business to open up their doors. It’s an interesting initiative and I look forward to seeing how the whole idea develops--let’s say it’s at the pre-cool stage. It’s snug on a tight little medieval street. You’ll likely find a lady of the night greet you at the start speaking Italian with an accent, but it adds to the charm like most of these neighborhoods do before going on to becoming hip.
